Atacamite

Atacamite is a vibrant dark green, unusual but very attractive mineral.

This mineral forms in arid climates where copper minerals are exposed to oxidation. The Atacama Desert is where Atacamite gets it's name. This is one of the driest places in the world.

Atacamite with it's deep green color is often associated with many other rare and colorful minerals. This is a wonderful stone if you're a collector. As a jewelry pendant it's so vibrant and colorful in it's crystallized formation

It's a rare stone which has only been found in Italy, Australia, Arizona, and a recent find in the Atacama Desert in Chile. Our gem quality Atacamite comes from Chile.
