Karen Glick, President of Kindred Spirits Designs, Inc. is a well -known and acclaimed jewelry artist who is known internationally. For many years her unique treasures have only been available in select galleries in Manhattan, Long Island, Pennsylvania and Virginia under her own name as well as Kindred Spirits Designs, Inc.

"The absolute wonder of what the earth can produce in a diversity of color, shape and formation is what draws me into looking for rare and exotic stones. The earth gives us a wide variety of gems and minerals, but some of the rare crystallized formations can only be found in small quantities and all too often, infrequently." Karen explains.

The excitement for Karen first begins with locating these raw natural gemstones from around the world and then finding the perfect way to cut and shape them. Diamond saws and diamond wheels are used to design the raw gemstone. Once this is completed, Karen designs a 14K gold-filled wire setting for the gemstone. 14K Gold-Filled (not plated) is used because of the strength. The pendant is set based on a specific design for the stone she's working on. It is hand crafted, molded and secured to the stone without using any glue or solder.

Karen designs the custom hand tools she uses for each setting. Some of these rare and crystallized formations create specific challenges. The settings are intricately designed to frame and showcase each "One of a Kind Gemstone". Once the pendant is completed, a unique necklace is designed using precious and semi precious gems and 14K gold beads to accentuate the pendant.

"I love being able to share these very different and unique gemstones from around the world and to marvel at the magnificent colors the earth produces," quips Karen as she flashes that smile so well known by many.

Karen's unique artistry and designs are presently displayed at "The ARTery" in Milford, Pa where her talent and skill as an artist have received rave reviews and enjoy an international fine jewelry clientele.

Karen was raised in Massapequa, New York. Her mother Kay Nichols, was a gifted artist in many media's including oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, sculpture, and poetry. Having exposure to these many different art forms along with artist friends and art galleries, gave Karen a solid foundation in color, light, shape and form, as well as the burning desire to explore.

"My one of a kind gemstones pendants are just like a beautiful painting to me. Once the stone is cut and shaped, I then set them in a frame, which is the setting. Once this is complete I them frame the whole piece into a necklace. I credit my mother and her many gifts, for teaching me to see thru different eyes."

Karen currently resides in Milford, PA with her husband Jeff. She enriches her life as a numerologist having studied, researched and taught the subject over the past eighteen years.
